Our letters from the Mataarae performers

Last term we wrote letters to our favourite performers in the Rugby World Cup ceremony. Some of us wrote to the Mataarae Kapa Haka group. Today we recieved letters, gifts and photos from the performers. We were so happy to read these letters and have displayed them in our class. Here are some photos from our wall display.

This week the Squares and Triangles have been learning about deciaml fractions. They have been using materials to add and subtract decimal numbers. The kids in this group are so clever and are ready to learn about not only Tenths but hundredths now!!!!

Christmas Celebration

This term we have been learning about different kinds of cultural celebrations. As a class we decided to have a Christmas celebration in our class. We talked about our family traditions, shared presents and had a feast. Here are some of the pictures from our very exciting day.

Week 3 homework

It is already week 3! Time is flying by very quickly.
This week for homework you need to do the following:

  • Practise your weekly spelling words on Spelling City
  • Read EVERY night for 20 minutes
  • Get 1500 points on Matheletics
  • Post a comment on the blog

Narrative writing

For our mini lesson in writing we looked at how to use speech marks correctly. We think Sefa came up with the best sentence. What do you think?

Celebrations



HALLOWEEN!
We looked into the celebration of Halloween this week. Jack-o-lanterns are a big part of the Halloween tradition so we made some out of paper plates. The lanterns look amazing in our classroom so come in and have a look.

Celebrations

This term we are learning about different cultural celebration. Tomorrow is Diwali so today we started to make rangoli patterns. We are going to colour these tomorrow.
