Welcome Miss Clansey

We would like to Welcome Miss Clansey into room 12. She is going to be in our classroom for the next three weeks. We are really looking forward to working with her!

Mathletics top 100 students

This morning two room 12 students had made it into the top 100 students on Mathletics.
Well done Hamish and Estelle! Keep it up!

Floating and sinking

Our science topic this term is floating and sinking. We have been learning about why some things sink and why some things float. Here are some of our pictures which show sinking, floating and upthrust.

Daffodil Day

Last Friday we wore yellow to support Daffodil Day. Our school raised $970!

Recount writing

Today we identified the different parts of a recount. We did this as a class on the Mimio.
We know that a recount has a:

• title
• orientation
• sequence of events
• personal comment

A recount is written in past tense and includes time and sequence words.

Mathletics

Well done to the following people who gained over 1000 Mathletics points this week!
Estelle gained almost 4000 point!!

This week Ryan and Danika were the hosts at out team 3 and 4 assembly. They did such a fantastic job, they spoke clearly and confidently. Estelle and Chris recieved our class awards for their efforts in Maths.
