Estelle's Huhu grub




Today Estelle brought in a Huhu Grub. We watched it burrow its way into the wood and make tunnels.

    Estelle, did you find out any interesting facts about huhu grubs??

    Huhu Grubbs can grow upto 70mm long. Larvae feed in dead rotten wood. Adult larvae does not eat and lives for two weeks only. They taste Like walnut.

    Thay eat dead wood.

    huhu grubs latin name is prionoplus reticuluns and is part of the longhorn beetle family.
